I have done a little crafting!!!!

I made two baby cards last night for a colleague at work!!! Her daughter went in on Wednesday to deliver, and my colleague asked me if I would make a card for her! Her daughter had a little girl yesterday, Anne didn't ask me again, has her daughter had some complications and I wasn't going to annoy her by asking as she had enough on her mind! So I made the cards last night and brought them in today to her! She was thrilled with them loves how simple but fresh they look, phew cause that was exactly how I wanted them to be!

I did say if she wanted more detailed cards that I would make them this weekend, but she told me not to be stupid that she loves the cards!!! I really do hate making cards for others as I am never sure how good they are and if they truly like them! Oh and she loved the verses that I picked out for them too!!!

The first card is from Anne to her daughter

The Verse inside reads:

My daughter’s new daughter
How precious and sweet
Beautifully perfect
From her head to her feet

Ten tiny fingers
And ten tiny toes
All dressed up in lace
With a cute button nose

I look at her face
And I see her bright smile
I have to admit
Takes me back quite awhile

I remember the day
Brought my own daughter home
More precious than anything
I’d ever known

My daughter’s new daughter
How precious and sweet
Beautifully perfect
From her head to her feet

So sacred and sweet
The giver of joy
So deep and complete.
Precious and priceless,
So lovable, too
The world's sweetest miracle,
Baby Granddaughter, is you.

I have been photo challenged!!!!

The lovely Julie who owns the Inspirational blog, Inspirational Tips, Techniques & Tutorials and her own personal blog Scrapping Away has given me this photo challenge which I think is totally "COOL":

In the 6th folder, take the 6th picture and post it on your blog.Write something about the picture.Challenge 6 new people to join this challenge..

Okay I am anal about things like this, so I have a photo album folder, inside all the years in their own folders, in side those all the months in their own folder and inside that all the days with their own folder, so what I have done is kept going to the 6th folder until I got down to this photo

This photo is a special photo for me, it's not the best one that I took in this series of photos, but I haven't cheated and used it, I took this photo on 27th October 2003

This is my Nan and Aimee! Aimee is just over a month old!!! Wasn't she a pudgy little thing!!! The sad part about this photo is that we lost my Nan in the May of the next year!!! Anyone who really knows me, knows that I absolutely adored my Nan, would do anything for her, even though she always gave me a hard time, but that was the banter between the two of us, and no one else really understood it!!!! Their was also a special bond between Aimee and Nan! On the last day that we saw Nan, she was in bed and I put Aimee down beside her (Aimee was 8 mths old by then) and Aimee just snuggled up to Nan and kept smiling at her!! It was beautiful to see and for once in my life I didn't have a camera with me!!!! The freaky thing is Aimee will often start crying and I will ask her what is wrong and she will say "I miss my Nana Peggy (this was Chloe's name for my Nan). This totally freaks me out as I will question her, as she has grandparents in Ireland, America and England, but no it is my Nan she is speaking about!!!! How is that as Aimee was tiny when she last saw her!!!! I have that necklace that my Nan is wearing, it was given to me by my Aunt, Nan had it on when she passed away and I shall be passing it down to Aimee when she is old enough!!!! Well I had better stop as I am welling up as it is!!!!

So I am going to challenge

Hi all!

Warning a lot of reading in this post sorry!!!!

I haven't had a great week last week :( First of all I got a tooth ache, and I took so many pain killers you could hear them rattling in my tummy, lol!!! I made an appointment at the dentist for Thursday! I woke up at about 4:00am Thursday morning with horrible cramps in my tummy (was it the painkillers I wondered) but no I had diarrhoea, ick!!!! So I phoned in work and said I wouldn't be in, I felt horrible but I had to go to the dentist as my tooth was still sore!! I got the bus to the dentist and after waiting about 1/2 and hour, the dentist saw me and said that my back tooth needed to come out, but I had to take penicillin for the infection to go, so on the 9th of Feb I will be having my tooth out!!!! On the way back on the bus the bus broke down and we had to wait about 15 mins for a replacement bus, arggghhh, all I wanted to do was go pop the penicillin along with some more pain killers and get some sleep before the girls got home from school, nope that did not happen!!! Then when the girls got home, Aimee was complaining of tummy ache too, oh no not poor Aimee again!!! But when she tried to go to the toilet nothing was happening and she was crying in pain! The car was in the garage getting fixed so I had no transport and it was a horrible day!! Aimee felt okay after a while but the pain kept comming back, I got her to drink some fresh orange juice. She kept waking through the night, I still wasn't any better so that meant that Aimee and myself would be off of school on Friday!!! I kept rushing to the toilet, and Aimee kept saying her tummy hurt!!! Finally at about 4:00 pm she did a poo, sorry about the details, and it was huge, poor little girl! She was perfect after that no pain, I still wasn't feeling too great!!! But on Saturday and Sunday I had to tidy away all my craft stuff back into my cupboard as it was driving us all crazy with all my stuff all over the lounge!!! So that was my weekend, oh and if you are interested we have caught 1 adult and 5 baby mice, ick!!!! We went with mouse traps as the humane ones weren't catching anything the first night we had the spring trap down we caught the adult, we haven't caught any more since, so we are hoping that is it!! The traps will stay down for another few days just in case!
Today Chloe is off school with a sore throat and just feeling horrible!!!

On a happier note, Rleen has very kindly given me an award, which has so brightened up my day after the horrible week I have had, thank you so much Rleen!!!

There hasn't been anything fabulous on my blog for the past few weeks, but hoping once I get my college work done I can get some crafting done!!!

Anyway here are the rules of the award!

Give it to five others, who shall give it to five others. You must link to the one you got it from, and also to the ones you give it to and let them know. And there is more ... ... You have to write down five things you are addicted to!!

1. Of course my wonderful and beautiful family
2. collecting all sorts, from fridge magnets to books
3. stroking my paper and been very reluctant to use it on layouts, lol
4. spending too much time blog hopping
5. taken way too many photos of the same thing, lol!

and the wonderful 5 people I am giving it to are

Tracey

Sue

Linanna

Nina

Maddie

I wanted to give this award to these 5 people for their inspiration, their hard work, and their dedication to their craft!!!

I am going to do the same as Tracey and give the award to my top 5 commenter's!!
But Tracey is my top one and Lazy Kay (who Tracey nominated) so I will go with the next 5 who are

1. Melissa
2. Micayla
3. Tanisha Renee
4. MrsB
5. Ruth

I would like to say thanks to these ladies for taking the time out of their busy lives to leave such fantastic comments on my blog!

Wrapping Paper!!

I have found this story on Tracey's blog .... be warned it's a very sad but something to really thing about when children do something that yes its annoying but does it really need all that fuss creating about it????

The story goes that some time ago a mother punished her five year old daughter for wasting a roll of expensive gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and she became even more upset when the child used the gold paper to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree.

Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift box to her mother the next morning and then said,
'This is for you, Mummy.'

The mother was embarrassed by her earlier over reaction, but her anger flared again when she opened
the box and found it was empty. She spoke to her daughter in a harsh manner

'Don't you know, young lady, when you give someone a present there's supposed to be something
inside the package?'

She had tears in her eyes and said, 'Oh, Mummy, it's not empty! I blew kisses into it until it was full.'

The mother was crushed. She fell on her knees and put her arms around her little girl, and she begged her forgiveness for her thoughtless anger.

An accident took the life of the child only a short time later, and it is told that the mother kept that gold
box by her bed for all the years of her life.

Whenever she was discouraged or
faced difficult problems she would open the box
and take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each of us, as human beings, have been given a Golden box filled with unconditional love
and kisses from our children, family and friends... There is no more precious
possession anyone could hold.

Enough said !!!

Hoots Man there's a mouse loose about this house!!!!

A few months ago we discovered we had a mouse, we thought we had got rid of him, but yesterday I started to tidy my craft cupboard and discovered traces of him again, how dare the little so and so make his home around my precious stash!!! So I have spent all of yesterday and today clearing out my stash into the living room!! Now I can't do any crafting as I can't find anything :( So it is off to B&Q tomorrow to get some poison!! I know, I Know, but we have tried the humane ones (these are still down, so lets hope the mouse is a clever one and chooses these) and haven't caught the little bugger, and if we leave it too long we will be sharing our house with a family of mice and I am sorry but I sure as heck don't want that!!!!.

There will be no posts of craft for me for a while! So I am going to catch up with all my favourite blogs instead!

Me and You!

I took these photos for a workmate, and she had seen a layout that I done of the girls and loved it, so I made this for her and on the last day of work before Christmas I brought it in and said it was just something that I done for her and she could open if she wanted as I didn't want her to feel bad that she hadn't gotten me a present. She loved it and was so overcome she cried, which made me cry, so for about 10 mins before the children came in we were trying to gatter ourselves together, lol!!!!

Make a Wish!

This is how the pages are going to look in Chloe's album and now for the close ups, lol

This photo was taken on Chloe's 13Th birthday and I love how it turned out! I also love this paper, I decided just to add the title and the frame around the photo and stickle the design, as I didn't want to cover it up, but wanted to add some ummph!!!

This page looks alot better when it is beside the first page, I have hidden journaling under the photo, about how poor Chloe was too poorly to have her birthday sleepover. I have added black stickles to make the swirls and flourishes stand out a little more.

A close up of the frame work! I cut out the middle, cut a frame and wrapped some ribbon around it, then made a bow and tied a star/flower charm onto it! I then glued this down on to the paper and added some crystals for some more bling! I then folded some of the paper back unto the frame

A close up of the star/flower charm

Some close ups of the glittered flowers! If you click on the images you can get a better idea of the stickle work.
