Whitby Abbey

This layout is for the challenge that I set on the Paper Paradise Forum for October!!

In this layout I decided to just scrap Whitby Abbey, as I took so many good photos of the Abbey! It looks a lot better IRL, just couldn't photograph it!! I hate it when I get layouts like this! I will be scrapping family photos and more of Whitby at a later date! Just wanted to see if I could do a page without people in it!

The journaling is just the history of Whitby Abbey!

The layout is simple, a little matting and paper tearing, a few brads some ribbon. For the journaling tags all I did was rubbed some TH (Tim Holtz) Antique linen over the printed journaling, then went over the edges with TH Vintage photo ink and gently rubbed it over the antique linen! Cut it out and matted it!!!

For the lettering (which is all hand cut again) I sanded the letters with an emery board, and inked the edges with Color box cat eye bronze! And really that's it!!!!

We went to Whitby in September for a family birthday! It was DH's cousin's 60th birthday and she had done some family research and found out the DH's Grandfather's family came from Whitby! It was decided to celebrate her birthday there!! Most of DH's family went and we stayed in a YOUTH HOSTEL (it was basic, but clean and served our purpose), the hostel was in the Abbey's grounds, which was perfect!!! Aimee's birthday was in a few weeks so we had a family party for her there as well!!! A really good time was had by all!!

Stop

This layout is for 3 different challenges:
  1. Sketch
  2. Doodling
  3. ABC Embellie
This months Embellie's were
  • M - Monogram
  • N - Notebook Paper
  • O - Any orange embellie of your choice
I think I done good as I usually don't have a lot of orange in my layouts!!! And I have worked a lot of orange into this layout!!!!! This layout is another fairly simple one, just layering really, some inking, and some doodling, I still get scared before I actually put pen to paper, but once it's started then it's all over really, because I can't undo it then and might as well carry on! I don't think I have done bad with my layouts that have doodling, might have to get a bit more creative and adventurous though!

Thanks for looking and reading!!!!

Another sketch challenge

This for two challenges multiple picture and a sketch, most of the page is straight forward. Layered paper and photos, some journaling which reads "Aimee I love how you goof around when I take your photo, it shows what a fun loving personality that you have, and I get fantastic photos". Silk flowers with brads in the middle, some inking and two simile buttons.

The hardest part was doing the title. First I found a font that I liked in Word Art, then printed backwards, cut out all the letters, then traced around the letters on pink card stock, then traced around the letters again on black card stock! 3 lots of cutting out phew!!!

Then I glued the black "Shadow" letters to the pink card stock, finally I glued them to the page!

The tools that I used were Anita's tacky glue and a chopstick, which I find is the best to add glue to tricky areas! I find putting a blob on my cutting area the easiest way to pick up the glue!

Nan

This is a layout that I completed for a sketch challenge/scrap this? (Handmande). This is my Nan, unfortunately she died in 2004, and I still miss her dearly, so I suppose this is why this is the first layout I have completed for Nan. Most of this handmade which fit perfectly in with the scrap this challeng! Thank you Tracey for hosting!

The flower blooms are hand-cut from paper! The swirls are hand drawn on the back of the same paper and then hand cut out! The name is hand cut, the tag is hand made too!

September's Layout!

I used this layout in 5 different challenges! Paper Paradise's role model with journaling the tag pulls out and journaling is how good a Dad Steve is. Scrap this? Use something you didn't like any more, I used some leaf printed gold 12x12 paper that I got in a bargain paper bag, every other paper was brill expect this one as I didn't know what to do with it! I punched some flowers out of it! Colour challenge use green - Matt paper, White - some flowers, Blue - background paper, ink in the title. ABC embellie challenge - J - Jewells (middle of some of the flowers) K - Kraft paper (used for flowers and title) L - letter stamps (used in title) and a doodle challenge, the tree/plant/flower is hand drawn. I think that's it!!!
