Whiff of Joy part 2

As I mentioned in the post before, I am entering this card into the Whiff of Joy Challenge to use Swirls and Pearls! I think there is an abundance of both in this project! I made the whole set to match, and think it would be a nice gift idea for a mum on mother's day!!! The big gift box could hold the main present and maybe a sweet or two in the little box!

This is the card

And I made an envelope to hold it, first time making one, a little tricky, the hardest part was how to tie it up!!!

View with front of tag showing, have included swirls and pearls on this too!

Back of tag, for the TO and FROM part I used a journal stamp.

Close up of tag, I set an eyelet and threaded a bead and some ribbon through it.

First part of the closure opened, where you can get a glimpse of the card.

2nd part opened to reveal the card.

This is how I overcame the tying up issue!
I set an eyelet through the flower and paper, threaded a bead on to some ribbon and pushed the ribbon through the eyelet and tied a knot ....

I then threaded another bead on the underneath side tied a knot. I repeated this on all four corners, it is also a good way to hide where the punched borders meet are messy!!!! (Don't know about you, but my undersides always look a complete and utter mess!
To tie the envelope together, I have tied the opposite corners together in a bow! I also added a charm to the top tie!

Onto the box, a simple (yeah right) box! First time making one, and a few choice words were uttered in the process! When I had it made, I wondered what all the hassle was, as the saying goes, it's easy when you know how!

For the cover of the box I made a simple sleeve and covered it with punched patterned paper. I have distressed it with inks! Stamped with flourishes all over, corners and edges rubbed with distress inks. Keeping with the swirls and pearls theme, I have added a huge swirl on top (using the Bazzill template). I have included two clusters of flowers with pearl sprays. You can't see but all the flowers are sprayed with glimmer mist.

A few more views of the box. I punched a semi circle to allow ease of pulling open.

If that wasn't enough, I decided to make a small gift box to go with the set.
A little take-away box with a butterfly tie. I used a template that came free with Papercraft Inspirations.
Again stamped with flourishes, inked corners and edges. I used punched pattered border from the same paper as the rest of the set. I stickled all the flourishes and added pearls!

That's it, and thanks for looking!!!!

Way toooo much to list, but if there is anything you would like to know about, let me know!

Whiff of Joy (67) (part one) and Friday Sketchers(90)

What a day!!! My computer died!!!! And DH says it needs another mother board so it will take days to sort out! So I begged and pleaded for him to let me use his laptop! It is going to take me days to get used to it. I also don't have any e-mail, so no notifications, arggggggh

Anyways onto the challenges.

I am entering this card into Friday Sketchers and Whiff of Joy challenges.

As I don't often have a lot of time, I decided to make a full gift set to go with the pearls and swirls theme. I saw the beautiful gift set that Jane made for Tracey, and after Jane's kind permission I spent most of today making mine, not a patch on Jane's, but I am quite happy with it!!! As I already had the card made I decided to keep to the same colour combo. Please pop into Jane's Lovely Cards blog to have a look at Jane's and spend sometime looking at the wonderful creations Jane makes!

I have added separate posts for the rest of the set go HERE to see it!
