Day at the park

Just some photos I took of Aimee at the Park. Chloe was having a picnic with some of her friends and I was picking her up. So I went an hour early and let Aimee play on the park equipment. Even though Aimee went there alone, by the time we left she had made 4 new friends. It still amazes me the confidence that she has, she will just go up to some child she likes the look of and ask if she can play with them!

Yes I know these are not the best photos, but I love the way she looks in the photos, so happy and carefree and a whole lot of messy hair, lol

Cleethorpes Carnival Day

We went to see the carnival today, down Cleethorpes sea front! While we were waiting for the air show to start, I took some photos of Aimee

The worst part of the day were these bugs, they were everywhere and landed on you in droves!!!

The following planes are Spitfires. Aimee really enjoyed the display!

During the "break" we got an ice cream.

Don't know what type of plane this was. But as it went higher it seemed to drop and then start to fly again, fantastic to watch.

Then it was time for the parade, I have just added some of the photos that I liked, took lots!

The little princess of the carnival

A tribute to Michael Jackson from one of the local dance groups.

These 3 wheeled cards amazed me when I first saw them when I came to England.

Another tribute to the King of Pop, (RIP)

Captain Jack Sparrow!

Beautiful Chinese Dragons

I have another photo of this boy with his eyes opened, but this one seemed to fit better with the 70's theme, lol

For some reason there were 100's of ladybirds around, and Aimee was getting so upset as there were lots of them squashed on the footpath, she managed to rescue any of the live ladybirds that she saw and put them on bushes beside the footpaths ....

lets just say it took a long, long time to get to where we wanted to be!

Warning PHOTO HEAVY post ...

One of my neighbours has this butterfly bush (can't remember the real name), I discovered it last year and took some fantastic photos, see here, this year there was only one brightly coloured one, the rest were whites .....

Managed to catch a bee in mid-flight!

Not a very good photo, but there are 4 butterflies!

A butterfly mid-flight!

Three together!

I took over a 100 shots, my neck was sore, my arms were sore, and now my eyes are sore and my patience is sore from cropping and uploading, lol

At Long, long last .....

I got a phone call tonight to say that my brother John has at long last proposed to his girlfriend Mairead! YEAH!!!!! Mairead has been an unofficial member of our family for the last 10 years! My parents adore her, I couldn't think of anyone better for John and my 2 girls think the world of both of them!

Today John whisked Mairead off to Dingle for the day and night and at dinner he proposed to her! I don't know all the full details yet as we are going to Ireland soon for a holiday and I want to wait till then, I do know that NO ONE including Mairead knew this was going to happen! He picked out a ring (solitaire, I think) himself!

Edited on 14 August 2009 to say:-
John proposed to Mairead on one of their favourite beaches, down on one knee and all. The ring is stunning!!!!

Now that explains the strange text that I got off of him a few days ago, wanting to know exactly when we were coming over ... mmmh!

I couldn't be happier and now all I want to know when is the wedding, lol!!!!!

Congradulations John and Mairead

Nephew Cards

I had the great honour of looking after Tracey's shop Running with Scissors, while she had a much deserved family day!

The shop was busy and I thought I was going to have an easy day, lol!!!! Two ladies came for the crop, which was good and seeing as they asked if they could use the shop's cuttlebug, I decided to make use of it myself! I cut the vintage corner and the names on the cards from the dies!

Two of our nephews who are brothers have their birthdays a day apart!

Everything that you see has been bought in Running with Scissors!

A fantastic memorial .....

as I was getting the school children's folders up to date last night, I decided to watch the Michael Jackson memorial! It was very good even though some of the guests did waffle on a bit! I managed to hold it all together until Paris said her farewell to her dad, my heart broke for her and her brothers and my tears fell, by the time they carried his coffin out I was a mess! I still can't believe that I was watching MJ's memorial service and that he won't be ever performing live again and there will be no new songs, videos, appearances, etc!!!!

RIP MJ

as your song states, you are defiantly "GONE TOO SOON"!!!!!

Chloe's Altered Frame

Well I couldn't make one of Aimee and not Chloe! Again Tracey kindly gave me this frame too! I have used most of the same techniques as I did on Aimee's (which can be seen here). Chloe didn't want pink but more of a vintage type frame!

Sorry about the reflection on the photo, didn't realise until I uploaded the photos a little while ago.

The distress ink that I used was Walnut Stain, for some reason I was hoping for a much deeper wood type colour, but this mishap works great with all the elements that I chose, I think!

On Chloe's I have used a Bazzill flower, instead of the handmade cabbage rose that is on Aimee's. The flower was too red so I toned it down with some distress inks, layered a Prima flower, then layered a copper flower charm (I snipped off the ring), a beautiful pearlised button, some beading and a self adhesive pearl in the middle!

Again I have made my own bling swirl and I have also used a doily, which I very lightly inked with distress ink (in places, lol).

I used a Prima Cherry Blossom Vine on Aimee's but I couldn't find another type to fit in with the idea that I had for Chloe's frame, so I made my own, still used prima flowers though!! Again I used lots of charms!

Look at divine gold brocade trim, mmmmh fell in love with it when I saw it! It is much deeper gold IRL.
The butterfly is K and Co

This pic shows the cracking in more detail!

And isn't this the most divine trimming .... I have actually picked this trim up at the shop about 10 times as it is a little pricey, but I gave way to temptation in the end! lol
