Just Magnolia

Just Magnolia Challenge
We have a sketch by Mina for this week’s challenge. Please note that this challenge will run for 2 weeks, so our next challenge will be on 31st December so will be our Special Monthly Challenge – Anything Goes.

17dec

I decided to go all rosemantic with this card!  Fantastic wedding couple from Magnolia.  I used the masked technique with their brick window, to make it look like they were standing in front of Church wall.

Ingredients
Cosmo Cricket papers - that I have had for ages
Tim Holtz inks - Pumice stone, vintage photos, brushed corduroy, antique linen, black soot, fired brick, forest moss, peeled paint, tattered rose - Running With Scissors
sentiment - had for ages

3 challenges in one!

I am a little rusty at making cards!  So I have made a very simple card to fit 3 challenges:

CPS
This week is CPS Year in Review Week. To play along just pick any sketch from 2010 (#148-#198). To see all past CPS sketches you can click on the link in the left sidebar.
I picked number #163

Simon Says
This week, our challenge is an easy one - ANYTHING GOES! We know what a busy time of year this is for everyone, and it is time to spend with family and friends, so we are going easy on y'all this week!

Stamp Something
Our theme this week is to create something with a tag or pocket on it!

Me thinks my card needs a bit of umph!  Aww well least I got it done in time for the challenge.

Ingrediants

Papers are from an old paper pad
Ribbon another one I have had for ages
Tim Holtz reinkers - Vintage photo, bundled sage, peeled paint, mustard seed, dried marigold, tattered rose, fired brick - Running with Scissors

Card Scrap Challenge

In November I issued a challenge to the members of Paper Paradise Forum. I sent out a little pack of goodies for all to make a card out of! The rules were that you have to use at least a bit of everything. But I threw them a wild card I added in these naff little stars that I had kicking around for ages, and to make it fairer I added a get out clause that they could pick one thing not to use but had to explain why!

I am delighted by the results and everyone used the naff stars, which these ladies have turned from naff into wonderful embellishments.

There is a poll in the forum, but I thought I would also add another poll here at the top of the right column. I will tally up both results. Voting until 15th December midnight.

This is the pack that I sent out

This is my example

and the inside.

Here are the fab cards that everyone sent in!

Same but different Challenge

My good friend Tracey set up a Same but different challenge through her shop's forum Paper Paradise (you are more than welcome to come and vote (its under new challenge in the card section). She got 6 entries which you can see on her blog HERE. Tracey also made a card herself. Which is fantastic.

We were all sent a pack of stash. We had to use everything in the pack, but were allowed to add to it if we wished! Once we had the card made we had to send her a jpeg image, we were not allowed to show our cards until all cards were posted on her blog then we could post them too.

This is the pack that we received.

This is what I made, all I added was a black brad and some ink (colorbox lava black inkpad)

Thanks for hosting Tracey it was fun!
