New Whiff of Joy Stamp -

mmmmh Dreamy Willow, isn't she beautiful!

I made this for a niece's birthday card also for a Card Challenge on Tracey's new site Running with Scissors, this challenge is open to everyone, so please come and join us here!!!!

It is from a sketch that I designed myself and very easy, but I have warned everyone these challenges will get harder as time goes on!!!!

Just simple matting and layering! As I don't have a sewing machine and was too lazy to do hand sewing so I just used my green Sakura pen to do some "sewing"!!!!!

Image is coloured in using my Distress inks

Willow with Cookies - Whiff of Joy Challenge #26

Again another card for the stock pile, yeah!!! I am entering this into the Whiff of Joy challenge! And we were to use Black and White with ONE splash of colour!!! What is it with these challenges at the moment, bring back the sketches, my poor brain is going into overload!!! Seriously I am enjoying these challenges.

The paper I used was a mistake buy, I think it has been in my stash for 2 years and the worse thing is I bought a pack for Ruth too!! Well they looked good on the outside of the pack (sorry Ruth).

See what I did???? I decorated the inside too!!!!!!!!!!!

I used a stripy dotty strip of paper as a paper ribbon underneath the lace. Willow is mounted on 3D foam pads, one flower is stuck to the edge and the other two straight to the card.

Whiff of Joy Challenge #25 - Melinda Holding Book

I am entering this card into the Whiff of Joy Challenge, which is a wonderful sketch by Katharina who owns the Creative Ideas Blog

I have matted this image onto lace, I stitched a running stitch through a lenght of lace, and then pulled it tight. I then taped it onto the back of the image, gathering it as I went along. Like my stitching, lol, I was too lazy to get out my pricking tool so I just drew in the stitches. Melinda's wings, necklace, bracelet (the love hearts), jeans and the flower on the bookmark have been Stickled! This card is for one of Chloe's friends who is having her 13th birthday Sunday night.

I used a PEEL OFF and coloured it with black peel off marker. I tried to make a frame with Liquid Pearls, but I am afraid I can't do straight lines, lol

WHAT I USED:

Stamp - Whiff Of Joy - Melinda Holding Book
Patterend Paper - g.c.d. - Rose Colored Glasses
Cardstock - Stucco
Flower - From my stash - haven't got a clue
Charm - Creative Charms
Brad - Woodware
Peel Off - In my stash for sooo long and a black peel off pen
Stickles - Crystal
Liquid Pearls - Petal Pink
Inks - Tim Holtz Distress Inks:- Tattered Rose, Weathered Wood, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Old Paper, and Fired Brick

Oh by the way The Summer Stamps have just been added to the Whiff of Joy website to buy. They are divine! Click on the Logo below to go to the site!

June's card

I made this one for Steve's mum, June

I have put distress faded jeans Stickles on the edges of the flower petals, first time using the distress stickles, I find them a little harder to direct where I want the bling to go compared to Stickles, but I am sure to get the hang of it, lol

I have used Melinda Hugging Heart (Whiff of Joy) for this image.

Milk Carton!

It was Tracey's birthday yesterday and it was the opening day in her new shop. I didn't want to give her two cards. I had also given her, her birthday present from us earlier in the week. I remembered seeing a tutorial on making a paper Milk Carton on Katharina's blog. So I made one and put some sweets inside. To see the tutorial go here! and Katharina I followed your instructions very easily, thank you! The best thing about this design you only have to use one piece of 12x12 paper.

I distressed the paper by splashing some inks over the paper and inking all edges.

Card Sketch Challenge!

Over on the Card Positioning Blog they hold a sketch challenge every week, this is my first time entering! This is the sketch that is this weeks challenge

and here is the card I made with the sketch!

My good friend Sue is selling her craft shop to my good friend Tracey!!! So it is a sad and happy time! I owe a lot to Sue for her brilliant inspiration, her kindness and her being a very good friend! I popped down to see her today as it is her last day trading, she is handing over the shop tomorrow to Tracey. I would like to wish Tracey all the Irish luck that I can give her in her new venture, and I shall be propping up the counter and drooling over her supplies!! Good luck hon, you deserve it!

I would also like to wish Sue all the best and hope she can find the niche that she is looking for and as always my offer of help is still there!

I made this card for Sue just to wish her luck, I thought the sentiment fit just right.

As you can see I have been painting again, a bit better than the first attempt!

Whiff Of Joy Challenge #17

I finally have used one of my beautiful Whiff of Joy Stamps!!! I have been admiring these stamps for ages, and Steve said he would get some for my birthday, and lucky me got to pick six of them, so here is the first stamp that I used - Melinda Blowing Kisses. My SIL's birthday is today and I decided to use the stamp! I was blog hopping to get some inspiration and I came across the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog, which had a fantastic sketch by the very talented Donalda. I have never used a sketch when making cards, I always just struggled along, but now I am defiantly converted and will be looking to sketch's to make cards in the future, just as I do with most of my scrapbook pages!

Here is the fantastic sketch

and here's what I did with the sketch.

Some close up of the glitter work

I haven't got any of the expensive pens to colour the images, and I can't afford them right now, so I used my Tim Holtz distress inks and a paintbrush!!! Not bad for a first try, but looking at it now, I am ever so sorry that I coloured the green around the image, should of just left it alone, live and learn! I know it's not as neat as it should be and I went outside the lines in a few places, think I am going to invest in some good quality paintbrushes as the ones that I have are cheap naff ones!

I am going to enter it in the Whiff Of Joy Challenge, just for fun, as the cards that are entered into this challenge will blow mine out of the water, lol So if any of you talented ladies have any comments, hints, tips, techniques you would like to share with me I would love you to! If you use Distress inks to colour your stamps, which one do you use to colour the face and body????
