It's Aimee's party .....

Aimee has wanted a party at Playtowers for ages, so I decided this year she could! Aimee had a fantastic time, I didn't think much of it, but in the end if Aimee had a good time, then it was worth it, all I can say .... It's over with, yeah!!!!!

Some photos of Aimee before we went to the party, and before she got her usual red cheeks, it runs in the family as most of her cousins get really red cheeks after running around!

My two beautiful girls!

This is Aimee's best friend Milly, Aimee was so worried that Milly wouldn't come, she kept asking is Milly here yet, and when Milly did turn up the two of them ran to each other and had a big hug, how sweet is that!!! I don't meet the girls parents due to Aimee getting the school bus, so I haven't been able to ask for permission for the girls faces to be shown on my blog, Aimee and her cousin Georgia are the only two that aren't blanked out in the following photos!

As you can't see Milly's face I decided to leave it like this!

Aimee having lots of fun!

Don't know who she is smiling at, but I love this photo!

This is the cake that she picked, she was in two minds between Hannah Montana and Tinkerbell, I would of chose Hannah!

Blowing out her candles ..... again!

And finally some group shots, I decided to ask the girls to pose anyway they wanted and I got some really good photos!

What posers, lol!!!

Aimee's 6th birthday

Unfortunately for Aimee her birthday fell on a school day, so to make it more special for her, we decided to go to McDonald's for tea and EAT IN, we usually just use the drive through and eat at home.

Aimee was super about this as it meant that she had to leave all her presents until she came home, or it would of taken too long!

Here is Aimee and Chloe before we went!

Where's my tea!!!! lol

Opening her presents!

This was a Hannah Montana pillow, with a secret diary and a plug in for an MP3 player that she can listen to at night, whatever next, (jeez I sound like my mum) Her Uncle Mark, Auntie Ruth, cousins Georgia and Ben gave Aimee this. Ruth also made a beautiful frame that you can see on her blog if you wish, here

Next it was our present, this is Barbie with a dog and puppies! First time in a long time she has asked for a Barbie doll! We have also got tickets for her to go and see Disney Princess on Ice in November!

This is Chloe's present to her, she got 3 of these dolls, which make up the characters of a tv programme called H2O, which is all about Mermaids!

Straight away without any prompting she went and gave Chloe a huge hug, they are sweet sometimes!

And believe it or not this is the first birthday cake I have ever made, I usually cheat and buy! But because Aimee is having a party on Saturday, she got two cakes and I asked her which ones she wanted (just a simple cake for our little party at home, and a character cake for her party), she wanted the chocolate cake that I make and the chocolate chip muffins too!!!

Blowing out her candles!

Cutting her cake!

Enjoying her cake!

Happy birthday my beautiful and wonderful 6 year old!
Love mum

Aimee's best friend's party!

Aimee has been invited to Milly's 6th birthday party! Milly and Aimee are best friends at school and have been told not to sit next to each other as they tend to have little chats!

Here is the special card that I made for Milly on Aimee's request!

I haven't really used this stamp before, it's an Elisabeth Bell design made by Sugar Nellie, and is called Sweet and Sassy!!!!

And some photos taken at the party, such a shame I didn't think to ask permission as they would be fab photos!

First day back and first tooth .......

Aimee started back to school last Thursday, going into year 1! She went on the bus by herself as Chloe has been "missed" off the bus list (I won't go into that now as I could go on forever) argggghhh!!!!

Anyways here is the obligatory photo of her first day back!

HAVE TO REMEMBER TO TAKE A PHOTO OF HER LAST DAY!!! I never remember! Bad scrapbooker!

Aimee's two front teeth have been loose since June! And she has been annoying me ever since, when are they going to fall out! Last night she was upstairs with Chloe and I heard a shout, I thought oh no, they are at it again! She came bounding downstairs, "Mummy my tooth fell out", she held up a bloody tooth, and showed me a bloody grin!!! I asked how it fell out and she said she was biting Chloe's jumper (don't ask) and it got caught and fell out!!!! The other tooth, is barely hanging in there, I wouldn't be surprised if she came home from school with no front teeth!! Great heading for a Christmas page "All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth", don't you think Tracey, ;)

Why does Aimee's hair always look so red in photos???? The first photo shows her hair in more of her natural colour!!!!

Thanks for looking

Introducing Candyfloss (I think)

Isn't he a cutie!!!

I made this for my little niece's birthday!!

I'm not sure that this stamp is Candyfloss or Marshmallow!!! There are two bunnies and 12 other stamps in this set for £5.99 in Running with Scissors from the Daisy and Dandelion collection, who give all their stamps cute names. In the set this one was placed near the top so I am assuming it is called Candyfloss. Perfect for little ones, get well cards, birthday cards, thinking of you cards, etc. The list is endless really.

They stamp beautifully, very easy to stamp with and very easy to colour, even though I'm not happy with my colouring!

I coloured it with distress inks and added a butterfly and ladybird from the set. The Hugs and Kisses sentiment is also from the set.

Added some ribbon! A very quick and easy card!

New Whiff of Joy Stamp -

mmmmh Dreamy Willow, isn't she beautiful!

I made this for a niece's birthday card also for a Card Challenge on Tracey's new site Running with Scissors, this challenge is open to everyone, so please come and join us here!!!!

It is from a sketch that I designed myself and very easy, but I have warned everyone these challenges will get harder as time goes on!!!!

Just simple matting and layering! As I don't have a sewing machine and was too lazy to do hand sewing so I just used my green Sakura pen to do some "sewing"!!!!!

Image is coloured in using my Distress inks

Dandelion Clock

Aimee loves to blow Dandelion Clocks, but she calls them wishes, love that!!!! Manged to get a few photos of her blowing them.

A few close ups!

I started the layout by using a die cut 12 x 12 paper, tracing around it onto other paper and cutting it out. I then measured around the edge and cut out the inside and then curled back the edges, I saw Tracey demonstrating this one day for one of her scrapbook ladies. Wet the edges lightly with a baby wipe and then curl them back on itself. Quick and easy distressing.

I then used a distress ink pad and cut'n'dry foam to colour the paper doily.

I used a cuttlebug die to make the beautiful vine.

I made the hat pins by threading some beads, chains and charms unto a stick pin, as they already had some beautiful pearl tops.

I stamped clocks onto acetate and cut around them.

I cut the title from cuttlebug dies and coated the letters in diamond glaze.

I also sprayed the big cluster of flowers with Glimmer mist

And I raised two of the photos at different heights to give more live to the layout.

I'm back ............... with a Beautiful you! layout

Over the next few posts I am showing you what I have been making lately ..... to start off, a beautiful layout of Chloe, YES I got another beautiful photo of her!

Just lots of matting and layering! I made the flourish my self!!!! I have two ways of making flourishes, the backing on the flourish isn't as visible IRL!
first one is a brush on photoshop that way I can make the flourish as big as I want! Second is to use the back of the acetate sheet from Prima's say it with crystals flourishes. Once I have used the flourishes, I use a permemant marker to place dots where the crystals were. You can also place this into a scanner or photocopier with a white sheet at the back and enlarge it to what ever size you want.

The for both ways I place some acetate over this dots and place my own crystals (either loose or the Mark Richard crystals, a little tip for the Mark Richard ones, very gently peel the whole row of crystals off, stick the first one down on the blank acetate and then hold it in place with a tweezers or pokey tool, and you can bend the crystals to what ever shape you wish!

I got the most beautiful paper Bo Bunny's that was double sided, so I decided to gut it and use one side for a frame and the other as a matt for my photo.

I usually ink all edges in sight, but decided not to as the distressed edges with the white showing looked nice.

You can also do this with liquid pearls and the Mark Richards self adhesive pearls. Next time I shall take photos as I am doing it!

What I used

Cardstock - Black Bazzill
Title - Bazzill cardstock and cuttlebug die (Thanks Tracey)
Paper - Bo Bunny - A Gift of Love - Unforgettable - Back to Back
Crystals - Mark Richards and my own from stash
Flowers - Bazzill Paper flowers -Prima Paintables and a collection of flowers
Chain and flowers
Pen - Sakura while glaze gel pen

All bought from Running with Scissors
