Altered Frame!

Tracey very kindly gave me this frame to play with! So I changed it from this to .............

this .......

There was a little mirror in the middle, I was going to re-size the photo to fit in there, but looking at it I thought there would be way too much space to fill, so I printed my photo 6 x 4 and backed on to some card (I used the back of those little 6 x 6 paper packs which gave it a nice strong backing), distressed the edges and inked.

I gessoed (is that a word?) the frame and then added some crackle paint, I wanted a soft feel to the frame, so I only put a lot of paint onto some parts. (You can see some of the crackle in the photos below).

The rest of the frame, is completed the same as a layout, rolled edges, torn edges, inked edges, etc. All stuck down with double sided tape.

I have used the cabbage rose technique that Tracey so kindly did a tutorial on, which can be found here.
I used some of the beading, a button, crystal, chain and charm to finish it off.

I have made this swirl corner myself. I found a pic of Prima's corners, got out my crystals and stuck them down on acetate. Not bad, huh?

I so love Prima's flowers. The minute I saw this one, I knew exactly which photo I was going to use. I have dotted a lot of charms around the vine and threaded some bead string.

What a sad, sad day for me and a whole lot of other people ....

Michael Jackson has died at the age of only 50. MJ was such a huge part of my growing up. After all he did nearly spend 45 years in the music business. I don't think there is a person alive today who doesn't know who MJ is, either love him or hate him. I was able to go his Bad concert in Cork, Ireland and then his Dangerous concert in Dublin. I LOVED his music, his energy, his imagination, etc For most of my teens and early twenties I was defending him against family and friends who called him a freak, I used to get really wound up .....

I used to have my bedroom wall covered with his posters, I had 4 scrapbooks (the old children's ones) full of his pictures, wrote his song words in there, decorated the edges with the usual teenage doodles. I have headbands, tee-shirts, badges, Cd's, books etc

I heard it last night on a news channel and I am still waiting to hear that it was just a horrible, horrible rumour some mean spirited person put about. I am in deep, deep shock.

I feel for his family and his young family!!!

RIP MJ you will never be forgotten ........
