Gorgeous tags! I've got to learn that technique - it is a wonderful look.
As for the background -- I think it works great with these tags, but if you ever want a colored or black background behind scanned images just put a piece of cardstock over them after you put them on the scanner bed. Voila! Something other than a white background. :D
This also works great when scanning things that are somewhat 'transparent', like newspaper or magazine articles. If you place a piece of black cardstock behind the article you will get a 'cleaner' looking scan. Try it -- you'll love it!

The background doesn't look 'Blah' at all!! makes the gorgeous tags stand out a treat.. love how you done the backgrounds and resist technique.
