Tracey's Class!

I had a fantastic day at Running With Scissors on Saturday, I managed to stay the whole day for Tracey's class and the crop! The class was such a laugh and the papers we were using were divine, beautiful Bo Bunny! When I saw the papers immediately two photos came to my mind! Tracey printed her photos black and white, I went for sepia! You can see Tracey's pages on her personal blog here!

These photos are so special to me, first of all these are the last photos taken of my Nan before she died (RIP Nan) and these are the only photos of Nan holding Aimee, and I have mentioned before there was a special bond between Aimee and Nan!

"Quote from an earlier blog post, relates to the second page "Love"

This is my Nan and Aimee! Aimee is just over a month old!!! Wasn't she a pudgy little thing!!! The sad part about this photo is that we lost my Nan in the May of the next year!!! Anyone who really knows me, knows that I absolutely adored my Nan, would do anything for her, even though she always gave me a hard time, but that was the banter between the two of us, and no one else really understood it!!!! Their was also a special bond between Aimee and Nan! On the last day that we saw Nan, she was in bed and I put Aimee down beside her (Aimee was 8 mths old by then) and Aimee just snuggled up to Nan and kept smiling at her!! It was beautiful to see and for once in my life I didn't have a camera with me!!!! The freaky thing is Aimee will often start crying and I will ask her what is wrong and she will say "I miss my Nana Peggy (this was Chloe's name for my Nan). This totally freaks me out as I will question her, as she has grandparents in Ireland, America and England, but no it is my Nan she is speaking about!!!! How is that as Aimee was tiny when she last saw her!!!! I have that necklace that my Nan is wearing, it was given to me by my Aunt, Nan had it on when she passed away and I shall be passing it down to Aimee when she is old enough!!!! Well I had better stop as I am welling up as it is!!!!
Unquote"

As for the crop, ahem ... I stamped a few images, and then got too caught up on a project that a little girl called Chantalle was making with her dad for school, I must say for someone, especially a little girl, who has never done crafting before she was amazing and her book is going to be stunning!!! Tracey you have to remember to take photos of it when she finishes it! Again thanks to Tracey for putting up with me and to Nicky for leaving "borrow" some of her stamps, lol!!!! I will drop mine down next Saturday and you are more than welcome to stamp up some images!

Girls .....

just want to have fun!

I have made this layout for a Challenge called 1,2,3,4,5 on Pages In Time Forum. I needed to use -

1--- piece of patterned paper
2---photos in your layout
3---(at least) lines of journaling
4---round eyelets or brads
5---letters in one of the words from your title

Most of the requirements are pretty obvious, but the brads are a little lost, there are four flower brads around the big flower.

These are photos from Aimee's 6th birthday party, and as I am very aware of children's photos being posted on line without permission, I have blanked out the children's faces, (except for Aimee's cousin Georgia). Aimee's best friend Milly is in the green top beside her, she was so worried incase Milly didn't turn up and her face was beaming when she saw Milly arrive! I had asked the girls to pose and this is what they came up with!!! The second photo is of Aimee just having a good time, hence the title!!!! Girls just want to have fun!

What I used

Cardstock - Some pink card I had lying around!
PP - Basic Grey - Gypsy - Archangel - Running with Scissors
Flowers - Large pink Bazzill - collection of rose buds Running with scissors!
Title - Silver Glitter card - Running with scissors - Font - cut from Craft Robo
Stamps - Prima Journal Frames - Running with Scissors
Ink - Around the edges of everything - Tim Holtz - Worn Lipstick
Paper Doily - Sainsburys

Beautimus

Definition of beautimus: Something that is both beautiful and fabulous. How cool is that?? I have created this layout from the following sketch that I designed for a sketch challenge that I am hosting on Tracey's Running with Scissors site.

And here is the layout that I created!

Not an exact copy of the sketch, but near enough!!

Close up of the beautiful Prima stamp and Prima bling! I have had this stamp set for over a year! Haven't used this stamp as I had no block big enough for it to fit on. Tracey got in some Rock-a-blocks and in the pack with the bigger sizes, the real big one fit!!! Yeah!!!!

Bazzill - black and white
Flowers - Woodware
Prima stamp - Build a swirl
Bling - Prima - Say it with crystals

Dandelion Clock

Aimee loves to blow Dandelion Clocks, but she calls them wishes, love that!!!! Manged to get a few photos of her blowing them.

A few close ups!

I started the layout by using a die cut 12 x 12 paper, tracing around it onto other paper and cutting it out. I then measured around the edge and cut out the inside and then curled back the edges, I saw Tracey demonstrating this one day for one of her scrapbook ladies. Wet the edges lightly with a baby wipe and then curl them back on itself. Quick and easy distressing.

I then used a distress ink pad and cut'n'dry foam to colour the paper doily.

I used a cuttlebug die to make the beautiful vine.

I made the hat pins by threading some beads, chains and charms unto a stick pin, as they already had some beautiful pearl tops.

I stamped clocks onto acetate and cut around them.

I cut the title from cuttlebug dies and coated the letters in diamond glaze.

I also sprayed the big cluster of flowers with Glimmer mist

And I raised two of the photos at different heights to give more live to the layout.

What I used

I'm back ............... with a Beautiful you! layout

Over the next few posts I am showing you what I have been making lately ..... to start off, a beautiful layout of Chloe, YES I got another beautiful photo of her!

Just lots of matting and layering! I made the flourish my self!!!! I have two ways of making flourishes, the backing on the flourish isn't as visible IRL!
first one is a brush on photoshop that way I can make the flourish as big as I want! Second is to use the back of the acetate sheet from Prima's say it with crystals flourishes. Once I have used the flourishes, I use a permemant marker to place dots where the crystals were. You can also place this into a scanner or photocopier with a white sheet at the back and enlarge it to what ever size you want.

The for both ways I place some acetate over this dots and place my own crystals (either loose or the Mark Richard crystals, a little tip for the Mark Richard ones, very gently peel the whole row of crystals off, stick the first one down on the blank acetate and then hold it in place with a tweezers or pokey tool, and you can bend the crystals to what ever shape you wish!

I got the most beautiful paper Bo Bunny's that was double sided, so I decided to gut it and use one side for a frame and the other as a matt for my photo.

I usually ink all edges in sight, but decided not to as the distressed edges with the white showing looked nice.

You can also do this with liquid pearls and the Mark Richards self adhesive pearls. Next time I shall take photos as I am doing it!

What I used

Cardstock - Black Bazzill
Title - Bazzill cardstock and cuttlebug die (Thanks Tracey)
Paper - Bo Bunny - A Gift of Love - Unforgettable - Back to Back
Crystals - Mark Richards and my own from stash
Flowers - Bazzill Paper flowers -Prima Paintables and a collection of flowers
Chain and flowers
Pen - Sakura while glaze gel pen

All bought from Running with Scissors

Paper Paradise October kit and Prima Sketch!

This is the fantastic October kit that Tracey has put together for Paper Paradise! It is full of scrummy Prima stash!!!! When I saw the kit I knew exactly what I was going to do with it!

and this is the result!

I have used this sketch which can be found on the Prima Blog Here.
Today is such a yucky day, between rain and wind, I was stressing about how I was going to take a photo of my page. I remember in this month's issue of Scrapbook Inspirations, the photographer said that she took a lot of photos in bathrooms, as they are usually very light and can give you a natural light, so I tried it, not bad for a first go, I am going to have to find where to put my layouts to find the best place, at least I know that I can take a decent photo, and not worry about the weather.

These photos were taken while we were on our camping holiday! We took a train ride and in Grosmont which was one of the villages we stopped at, in the ladies toilets there was all this old luggage bags, so I asked Aimee to pose with them, the lighting isn't great but I love the photos.

I changed the colour of the photos to sepia to give a little vintage feel! Then it was time to break into the fantastic Prima goodies!! I picked out two pages that I thought worked.

I then started to glue down the papers and photos with a glue stick. I stitched around the border and photos in a small stitch, and I used a bigger stitch for all the papers. All the buttons and chipboard buttons have been stitched into place too, I think I went a little sewing mad, on this page!

All the edges of the photos, papers, chipboard buttons, flowers and ribbon have been inked with Tim Holtz Vintage photo distress ink. The ribbon flower in the lower right hand corner, the ribbon was inked to fit in with the page, the white on the ribbon was too white and clashed with the page, so I used the Vintage Photo ink pad to change the colour.

I didn't get the orange cardstock in the kit, this is the green bazzill inked with Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade distress ink, as the green did not fit in with the page, and as we couldn't add to the kit, I changed the colour to suit my page. I used my craft robo to cut out the title, I am finally using it, but I still have a lot to learn as I wanted to weld the letters together so they came out joined together, but I was too impatient to get the page done and didn't play around with it enough!!!

I have used a gold glitter gel pen to trace around the word Imagine which was already on the paper, it blended in too much and got lost.

My journaling reads
Life is A Journey and I hope yours is full of happiness, love mum

Hibachi

I have made another 2 layouts for my 2006 Holiday album, yippee!!!! These are two 8x8 pages!

Sorry about the photos but I just managed to snap these before it rained, blah!!!

The first layout was completed for a sketch challenge (I turned the sketch sideways and followed the layout that way) that I set up on the Paper Paradise forum. The sketch is Mjuka's.
On the second layout the photo lifts up to reveal some journaling about the meal and lovely time we had.

June and Malcolm treated to us a Hibachi meal in a local Japanese Restaurant. This was so much fun. The chef cooks your food right beside your table so when he does his tricks with the fire you can actually feel the heat of the flames, it is safe honestly!

Aimee got to grips with the chopsticks so quickly, the waiter got her some rice and spinach rolls and as you can see Aimee dug in!

Stash Used

I got all these beautiful Oriental papers from Tracey (bet you thought I wouldn't use them, lol!!!)
Prima Flowers
Stamps - Kelly Panacci
Black Ink
Mark Richards self adhesive crystals

Day Dreamer

This is the layout that I have created for the Paper Paradise monthly kit challenge! Well September's really, hehehe. Tracey loaded the kit with scrummy Prima goodies!!!!

The photo is of Aimee taken on the Bark Endeavour ship in Whitby during our camping holiday! Aimee was looking up at the pirate flag when I snapped this shot! I just love this photo.

I didn't get white card stock in the kit, I cut the title out of pink bazzill, then painted the letters white, then pink and then back to white again. Lots of tearing, folding and layering in this page.

The only extra's that I have included are - paints, stickles, liquid pearls, inks and stamps.

Thanks for a fantastic kit again Tracey!
